What to Expect in Your Initial Consultation

We are unlike other clinics, as we know it takes time to understand your injury and what you want to achieve. This is why our initial assessments are 60mins.

We need time to:

  • Undertake a comprehensive assessment to provide a clear diagnosis and label contributing factors.
  • Give you hands-on treatment to help settle pain.
  • Prescribe exercise so you can continue the treatment at home
  • Create a step-by-step treatment plan to help prevent it coming back (Prevention is better than cure)
  • Liaise with other members in your healthcare team.

Running related injuries are quite common and can occur due to many reasons.

In treating running injuries, it is important to not only look at the injury but all aspects of the runner’s life and training i.e. training schedule, training loads, muscle strength and flexibility, footwear, sleep, diet, etc. When necessary, we perform a running assessment where our physiotherapists use video analysis to observe key factors such as cadence, foot strike patterns and joint angles, that may be related to your injury.

We work with local run clubs and run coaches and are well-versed in dealing with the array of running related injuries.
